Dandelion Root Roasted Tea
Dandelion Root Roasted Tea has a slight coffee aroma. As a widely used herbal medicine in Europe, dandelion root has been used to treat liver, gall bladder, and kidney ailments, weak digestion, and rheumatism. The bitter compounds in dandelion root help stimulate digestion and are mildly laxative in activity. The roots have been shown to be moderately anti-inflammatory, which supports their traditional use in the treatment of rheumatism. The root is used for dyspepsia, loss of appetite, as a diuretic, and for disorders associated with inhibited bile secretion from the liver.
Add loose tea (1 to 2 teaspoons per cup, 250ml) to a teapot, or infuser basket. Pour very hot water (not boiling) over the tea and let it infuse for up to 10 to 15 minutes. Strain leaves from the teapot before pouring. Add honey or a slice of lemon to taste. Enjoy!
